The breakfast was delicious and varied, with nice options every morning. The bathroom felt cramped and the walls were a bit thin, so noise was an issue. Overall, it's super pet-friendly with a great dog park. Parking was also convenient.

Breakfast was a highlight—hot food and plenty of options made for a solid start. The room was reasonably clean, and I appreciated the generous shampoo and body wash dispensers. The pet-friendly vibe was a plus; my dogs loved the onsite dog park. I was frustrated with the 4 PM check-in and a confusing shuttle situation that left me feeling unsupported. Room issues were disappointing too; the first had a stuck sink, and the second was a bit of a mess overall. Still, there was a great staff attitude that made a difference. Would consider returning.

The room was clean and spacious, and the staff were friendly. Noise from the main road was bothersome at night. The breakfast was served by attentive staff, which was a nice touch. Parking was ample and convenient. Definitely a pet-friendly place with a great dog park nearby.

The dog park is a nice feature for pet owners. Be careful about room location; mine was noisy from street traffic.

Clean rooms, friendly staff. Small rooms and some maintenance issues.

The humidity was unbearable—felt like a sauna unless I cranked the AC to freezing. Plus, the breakfast situation was a nightmare; rules were ridiculous, and I ended up leaving hungry.

The breakfast is a delightful start to the day. The van service runs until 11pm, and the staff in the kitchen are super generous and welcoming.
The receptionists could use some charm.

Southern Oaks Inn offers a prime location for exploring St Augustine. The breakfast served is enjoyable, an added bonus to a stay that's otherwise marked by cleanliness and helpful service.

Great pool area for the kids and plenty of games! The staff was nice and gave us free drink coupons!
It wasn’t cheap, but still manageable.

The room was spacious and clean, which felt inviting at first. the bed was quite hard, and the pillows were extremely thin, making sleep difficult. The shower was cramped, and the curtain did little to contain water, leading to a wet floor. We had to request extra towels multiple times as housekeeping seemed to overlook us. Temperature control was also an issue—our room became uncomfortably hot. On the upside, breakfast was delicious and the staff was generally responsive, quickly addressing our concerns about tissues and housekeeping. The pool’s shade cover was a nice touch for sun-sensitive guests.

Great location, close to shopping and activities. Plenty of free parking available. The room was very clean and spacious, and the breakfast selection was impressive compared to other hotels. The staff was super friendly and even texted daily to ensure a pleasant stay.
The room was outdated, with signs of wear and tear in the bathroom. The strong air freshener smell in the room was overpowering for some guests.

Clean room, clean atmosphere with a spacious layout that made it easy to bring in my bicycle and enjoy the comfortable beds after a day of exploring.
Nothing bad to say.

During my stay, I found the hotel to be ideally situated with a short drive to many beloved attractions like the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park just 1.66 km away and the historic Castillo de San Marcos only about 2.5 km from the property while being just a pleasant stroll away from local eateries like Brisky's BBQ and DOS Coffee & Wine all within less than a kilometer making it super easy to grab a bite or enjoy a scenic walk and the hotel staff were very friendly and the breakfast was notably good offering a nice spread to fuel my adventures but the shuttle service could use some improvement as I encountered some confusion around its availability for getting downtown easily.

The pet-friendly vibe made it so easy to travel with my furbabies. The beautiful oak trees and clean pool were perfect for relaxing afternoons. The friendly staff went above and beyond to make our stay special!
Can't recommend highly enough! 🐾❤️

The dog park is excellent. A perfect space for canine fun; our dog thrived. The property is picturesque and well-maintained. Staff? Exceptional. Kind, helpful, and attentive. Breakfast offers decent options but can improve. Clean dining area and courteous kitchen staff. But the hot buffet leaves much to be desired. Our room was spotless, though soundproofing is lacking. Thin walls allow too much noise from neighbors and nearby trains. Check-in was a hassle; no restroom available. A $10 upgrade felt unwarranted. Amenities worked well, yet navigating the property could be cumbersome. Despite inconsistencies, I’d return, mainly for the dog facilities and staff. Just go in with tempered expectations.

I made sure to get up early for the Farmers Market, aiming to become an aficionado of local goods. My room allowed everyone to experience comfort and style, even those with avian interests ready to flock to the Guided Bird Walk.
I always enjoy showering with black feet in a delightfully dated and dirty room.

My friends and I had a blast at the Sing Out Loud Music Festival and enjoyed the free concerts around town. The warm vibe and Valentine's Day festivities made it epic!
More night-time events for young party animals would make it even more lit! .

Christmas stay included a delicious breakfast daily and a free shuttle to downtown attractions. Conveniently located near shops and restaurants for necessities and dining options. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the beds and pillows were comfy.
Some rooms faced a busy road and a railroad causing noise disruptions. Outdated decor, lack of bright lighting, and issues with room humidity were noted.

First off, the room itself was pretty cozy and clean, but there were a few things that bothered me. The beds were as stiff as boards, and being used to a soft mattress, it was a bit uncomfortable for me. The air conditioning seemed to have a mind of its own, I was either sweating or freezing all night. Plus, walking barefoot in the room left my feet quite dirty, so I think the floors could have used a good scrub. On the bright side, the amenities like ironing facilities and tea/coffee provisions were handy. I also appreciated the free toiletries provided, it's always a nice touch. The flat-screen TV was a nice addition for some evening entertainment, and the parquet floor added a touch of elegance to the room. Housekeeping, however, was a bit lacking. We didn't get any maid service on the second day, and on the third day, I had to hunt down housekeeping for basic supplies like towels and toilet paper. Not the best experience in that department. Another positive was the free shuttle service to the historical areas, which was convenient. And I must mention the dog run area, it was beautifully maintained with lots of fun toys for the furry friends. Southern Oaks Inn has its charm with beautiful grounds and a relaxing atmosphere.

i had a wonderful stay at southern oaks inn. the room was clean, cozy, and well updated with a newly painted interior, a new bathroom, and fresh. the staff was friendly and helpful, quickly addressing any issues and providing a lovely breakfast with hot prepared foods. the hotel's location was ideal, just minutes away from various historic attractions and a short drive to downtown. the absence of carpeting and the availability of shampoo and soap dispensers added to the overall cleanliness and comfort of the room. i especially appreciated the free van service to the old center, making it convenient to explore the area.
Couldn't fault! 😊

Beautiful grounds and great breakfast. WiFi was spotty and traffic noisy.

The free concerts by talented musicians in various St Augustine venues created a vibrant and entertaining atmosphere. We especially enjoyed Showtime USA's holiday music performance in front of St Augustine's City Hall.
My wife says that providing more kid-friendly breakfast options would enhance the family experience.

Our stay at this pet-friendly inn in St. Augustine was a wonderful surprise. The hot breakfast was delicious and the staff were extremely accommodating. We loved the separate building and the convenient location with easy access to shopping and activities. The property was clean, the room was spacious, and the amenities provided were top-notch. it was a great resort experience and I would definitely book again in the future.
Front desk staff could have been clearer in their instructions upon check-in, causing some inconvenience at breakfast.

My recent stay at a charming inn just north of the city was delightful. The room was clean and equipped with all the amenities we needed. Despite a minor issue with noise outside, the staff promptly addressed it. I'll recommend this hotel.
